Privacy policy
This page is a translation of the French privacy policy. If the two differ, the French version prevails.
In short
- The site sets no cookies and asks for no account.
- Your favourites, price alerts, Dashboard and preferences are kept in your browser, on your device. They are never sent to us.
- To value an inventory, the site reads the public Steam inventory of the profile you enter. It asks for no Steam login and no password.
- We will never ask for your Steam API key, your Steam login details or your authentication codes.
Data controller
The publisher of the FragPrice website (see the legal notice), reachable at [email protected].
Data processed
Host's technical logs
Like any website, the host (Cloudflare, Inc.) processes technical data when you visit: IP address, browser type, page requested, date and time. This data is used to deliver the pages, keep the service secure (protection against attacks) and fix errors. Legal basis: the publisher's legitimate interest in providing a safe, working site.
Audience measurement
The site does not measure its audience for now: no analytics tool is loaded. If we add one, it will be a tool without cookies or individual tracking, and this page will be updated at the same time.
What the site keeps in your browser
Several tools on the site save information in your browser's local storage ("localStorage"). It stays on your device, is not sent to our servers and is only used to make the tool concerned work:
| Tool | What is kept |
|---|---|
| Language & Currency | The chosen currency (euro or dollar) and, where applicable, the chosen language. |
| Favourites | The list of skins you added to your favourites. |
| Price alerts | The skin, threshold and direction of each alert (50 at most). |
| Dashboard | The items you add to it (purchase price, quantity, date, float, stickers, note) and the sales you record. |
| Inventory calculator | The last Steam profiles you looked up (public ID, nickname and avatar, 20 at most), the float and pattern of the items in the last inventory looked up, and the purchase prices you noted. |
The site also uses the browser's session storage, cleared when the tab is closed, so that it does not notify you twice about the same price alert.
Nobody but you can access it, not even us. If you change browser or device, or clear the site's data, this information is gone; the Dashboard offers a backup to a file that you keep yourself. To delete everything, clear the site's data in your browser settings.
Display language
On your first visit, the site picks the language from the country associated with your connection, as reported by our host (Cloudflare, Inc.): French in French-speaking countries, English elsewhere. That country is neither stored nor passed on to anyone; only the resulting language is kept in your browser. You can change it at any time in the "Language & Currency" menu, and your choice then takes priority over the country.
Inventory calculator and Steam inventories
When you enter a Steam profile (link or ID), the site asks Steam for that account's public profile and inventory: nickname, avatar, CS2 items with their float, pattern and stickers. A private profile or inventory cannot be read. The "Friends" menu reads the profile's public friend list in the same way, with Steam's official access key.
- If Steam temporarily refuses to answer, the inventory is requested from the SteamWebAPI service (steamwebapi.com), which receives the account's public ID for that purpose.
- To limit calls to Steam, an inventory that has been read is kept for 6 hours in our host's cache, and a friend list for 10 minutes. During that time, anyone who asks for the same profile gets the same answer. We keep no record of the profiles looked up.
- This information is already public on Steam. Legal basis: the publisher's legitimate interest in offering the valuation tool requested by the visitor.
- If it is your account and you no longer want it to be read, set your inventory to private in Steam's privacy settings: it can no longer be read, and the cached copy disappears at most 6 hours later. You can also write to us.
Skin images
Images of skins and stickers and Steam avatars are displayed from Steam's (Valve's) image servers. As with any image loaded from another site, those servers receive your IP address in order to send it to you. Collection and case icons are loaded from GitHub (raw.githubusercontent.com, Microsoft), which also receives your IP address. Marketplace logos and fonts are hosted by us.
Discord "/price" command
If you use the /price command of the FragPrice app on Discord, Discord sends us the text you typed, your app's language and, as for any command, the message's technical identifiers (account, server). We keep nothing: the answer is computed on the spot, then the request is forgotten.
Emails
If you write to us, we use your address and your message only to reply to you. They are kept for a maximum of 12 months after the last exchange.
What we do not do
- No targeted advertising, no reselling of data, no profiling.
- No embedded social networks (no "Like" button spying on you).
- No fonts or scripts loaded from Google.
When you click through to a marketplace
By clicking a link to a marketplace, you leave FragPrice. The destination site may then set its own cookies, in particular to recognise that you came from us (affiliate link). That processing falls under the privacy policy of the marketplace concerned.
Transfers outside the European Union
The host Cloudflare, Inc. is a US company that may process technical data outside the European Union. Cloudflare states that it covers these transfers with safeguards provided for by the GDPR (standard contractual clauses and participation in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework). Steam's image servers, GitHub and SteamWebAPI may also be located outside the European Union.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, object to and restrict the processing of data concerning you. To exercise these rights, write to [email protected]. If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (www.cnil.fr).
